The finish is great and no issues with the heating unit, although it has not been very cold. It has hot air coming out the bedroom vents.... Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 3742May 01, 2016 1:00 pm Congratulations JaxCook! Over the moon for you guys! Thanks for the tip regarding heating - something is definitely wrong with ours. We are waiting for a phone all for someone to come out and fix it... Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 3745May 01, 2016 6:51 pm me too. The wrong tile has also been installed under the vanity mirror in the main bathroom. I double checked our contract to make sure I wasn't making an error and its definitely wrong. Our site supervisor is fantastic though so I anticipate it'll be rectified quickly Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 3746May 05, 2016 9:37 pm Hi puglover, did you get the issue rectified? Just wanted to update regarding our heater not working in second and third bedrooms. HBC responded immediately and got the supplier out to fix. This was rectified however the supplier called today asking us to pay for the service! I advised that HBC should cover the cost and to contact them. Hopefully this happens! Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 3747May 05, 2016 11:09 pm I would have done the same thing. They wanted you to pay to service their brand new faulty heater? Unbelievable! I would have laid into them. We got quotes for 5 star heating/refrig cooling, this week, looking at about $12k but it should be able to warm and cool the house super quick. We have confirmed the kitchen guys stuffed up and didn't read our plans properly and put in the wrong bench colour, so that's being fixed. I assume the tiles are too. We have a garage door, and next week our floors and blinds are going in and they're prepping to pour the driveway! I wonder how long it'll take from here! Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 3749May 06, 2016 11:31 am Sounds like you'll be in soon! Perhaps in a little over a months time? Technically it wasn't the heating companies fault. Another trade has gotten into the roof space and blocked the duct leading to the other bedrooms. But hey - this isn't our fault! Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 3751May 06, 2016 4:25 pm Yes - we have! You need to register your address via their website. They will email you information and a $550 fee will need to be paid. They will then contact you with a day that they can come and fit the box providing that you have all required infrastructure. Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 3756May 06, 2016 5:10 pm They connect it remotely however you need a compatible modem. When you call providers request a fibre to the home plan not a nbn. I thought they were the same thing but they're not apparently. We went with iinet and they sent us a modem. Shame that you can't take advantage of your work discount puglover! Re: Anyone building with Homebuyers Centre in VICTORIA? 3758May 06, 2016 6:09 pm They are not the cheapest but they're customer service is awesome. We also loved how Netflix streaming isn't included within your monthly data allowance with iiNet. We went shopping today and got a dishwasher, security screen door, a tv, dinner sets, glasses etc for the kitchen. So fun to finally be able to spend the money we've been saving for so long! We've also landed on a concept for the backyard (Better Homes and Gardens happened to build what we were thinking about last week which was handy), we're going to have decking to the fence line with a bench seat and bamboo screening the length of the back fence for privacy.
