Sounds like the pluming drain pipes to me, hope they sort it for you ASAP! Re: Ben Trager - Secret Harbour - Garage Doors & another lea 646Aug 12, 2014 9:42 pm oncewerefurriers mrsmith "Replace bench tops". What happened? The "cooktop" benchtop was fitted in the wrong place. It should have been flush with the cabinets at the fridge end but wasn't. Craig drew a line on the benchtop where it needed cutting back to. The fitters didn't cut the benchtop they just moved it further along so now we have a thick black marker line across it at one end. We're not overly impressed with the island benchtop either. It hasn't been polished underneath so there's writing (and chinagraph pencil) on the underside. fmac had the same with their island http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?p=1058172#p1058172 too. I think they sad it's because theirs was with a budget builder. Writing on the underside of stone normally isn't an issue because it should not be seen at all. It should have melamine underneath the stone to give it a nice finish. We did manage to get in when the painters were there on Thursday. Unfortunately, we've not been able to upload any pics to photobucket. Will give it a try tomorrow! Still got some leaks (actually, we sprung a new one the other day) but we believe the plumber was there the other day. Hopefully, they've got a plan to fix it. Is this usually post rain? I don't think it's usual, there have been a couple that are due to the roof/flashings still not being fixed but we've had a delivery of roofing stuff so maybe this will change. Doesn't seem to be a great deal of Colorbond considering how much is damaged and needs replacing. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Most of the recent leaks have been under the ensuite into the alfresco ceiling. I think there may be a link between them and the floor wastes being half-filled with water, so there's probably something wrong with the waste plumbing. They've trimmed the stone benchtop (that the old SS said was going to get changed). The benchtop is supposed to be to be flush with the cabinets so we can fit a tall panel up the side, in the fridge recess. However, it's neither flush nor straight so we're not accepting it. And there's some mad cracking appeared on the wall in the fridge recess (almost visible in the picture) and the stainless steel cooktop is covered in white, presumably essastone powder. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ There looked like there'd been a builders clean as the floors and windows seemed quite clean. However the trades seem to be unable to flush toilets or wipe p1ss off the seat. Or not put dirty marks on the white grout. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The flyscreens have been fitted. However they were fitted before the painters had been and now we have flyscreens with white paint on them. We also have Lexicon rendered walls with Domino splashes on them. The gutters have been painted. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ HOWEVER,They were painted in the rain so they all look like this. You just gotta wonder a trades blind or do they pretend to be ..they would not except that in there homes . I love your render colour . It beggars belief soemtimes. I was apprenticed as a painter and decorator (many, many years ago) to my dad who was a true professional. He would have kicked my ar5e up and down the street if I'd even thought about doing external paintwork in rain. Thanks for the nice comments. We're very happy with the way the render has turned out. We can't wait for the lower storey to be finished in the Domino. Re: Ben Trager - Secret Harbour - Getting close.....to losin 659Aug 25, 2014 12:51 am Some tradies are gross!! And the paint.... oh dear Re: Ben Trager - Secret Harbour - Getting close.....to losin 660Aug 25, 2014 1:01 am Painting in the rain.....that really is a new one. Even I, who am a complete painting amateur, know not to do that. Seriously did they think they were doing watercolour at the local kindy?
