Just lost an entire post!!! Ok, bit of shopping on the weekend! We have put on lay-by our dining table and chairs! We have looked high and low for a table that just wows us both, and here it is! We thought now would be better than later and missing out on them... luckily we got the last two!!! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We will put one whole pendant of nine lights above the dining table, then split the 2nd group up. The single shades will go above the breakfast bar, and then the remaining group will go in the entry way. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3284Jun 11, 2013 11:34 am Love love love JTM. The table and chairs are just Where did you get them from. Love knowing some good 'local' places. The pendant lights are cool!!! I won two pendant lights off ebay. One for $40.00 and another one for $35.00. I also bought a desk for my sewing room - cant wait to get it all into the house. We have put back our PCI one week. I want the house to be perfect and having it at the end of the month was going to make all the trades rush and I dont want that, so I had a chat with the SS and we are going to give the painters (who are on holidays for two weeks) another week to make my house shine. What is an extra week when we have already been on this journey 15 months!!! I do like Dare gallery, but their prices scare me. Our table and chairs are only a year old, so I dont think I will be getting a new one for quite awhile. Our bed is a super king, and is very heavy. Not looking forward to moving that one. Normally it's not a store we would venture into due to prices, but they were actually very good. Especially compared to even harvey norman and a few other places we have looked for tables. Other than the bed if we do, we won't be buying much other if any furniture until after handover. Too many other things to think about and get, like blinds and such! Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3288Jun 11, 2013 1:55 pm If you need blinds and carpet go to Raymond Terrace Carpet Court. We deal with them at work and they have great prices. The carpet for our house is $5300, but that is over 40lm of carpet. We are being charged $129 a lm for the carpet including super thick underlay, but from Choices at Newcastle it was $179 lm for the same carpet Our blinds for the whole house including one of the stacker doors (which needs 3 blinds) is $1780.00. We are only going with roller blinds as we have them all open most of the time. Who was your contact for the metaline splashback. I might call them and get them to come and quote on the splashback for our place - one more quote cant hurt. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3290Jun 12, 2013 6:25 am Wow Jen, that is a great price for blinds. We are just starting to price them up now so we have an idea how much money we need to put aside for them (would rather blinds go in at handover then having to hang up sheets). I wonder is the Carpet Courts in our area would have the same prices as yours? Our bricks started going up yesterday- we are so excited. I thought the bricks looked a little dark when they were sitting on the pallets but now that I can see them up they look great. I just found out that they are the same bricks that Rawson used on their Seaview display home in Kellyville Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3291Jun 12, 2013 8:10 am Quote: Our bricks started going up yesterday- we are so excited. We were really happy with the blind price. Fit off started yesterday. I was so excited to see my kitchen tap has gone in. The bath, taps and shower head are in for the main bedroom ensuite http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s112/paris-stella/C65604D9-6DD9-4E74-956D-834FC62290E1-2451-000000F2C955A30D_zps7ec49797.jpg http://i150.photobucket.com/albums/s112/paris-stella/C7F70BB3-F437-4D8F-9FA6-4203A05A1024-2451-000000F2C38688A8_zps6cf4b592.jpg 5th bedroom ensuite taps are in as well Today the plumbers are back finishing off the fit off. AC fit off started yesterday and electricians should be back today or tomorrow fitting off as well. Also had another splashback measure up this morning. This time for a caesarstone. We have a stone company that we use for work, so hopefully it will be cheaper. Fingers crossed. Jen_ Can I just say ur feature wall looks so nice!! Love it..and the kitchen tap... JTM_ OMG ur pendant lights...I am so in love with them..(lol) and the furni ..we saw a similar one at SHACK Sydney. We are going to order our dining table through them..(hopefully ) A question ..we are doing main floor after handover. Bamboo flooring. One of our frds who built B33 and did main floor (bamboo ) after handover said this.."The only issue we had was the kitchen doors to the pantry were only just short enough to allow the floor so we had to take them off and get them shortened by about 3mm" I though there is an allowance of 20mm and most of the flooring including underlay would fit in to this? Most of the flooring companies who quoted us said they need 17mm -19mm allowance. Has anyone else had this issue? How do you overcome this? Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3293Jun 12, 2013 1:18 pm Hi guys, Has anyone paid section 94 cost to council which is 1% of construction cost? Is your showerhead part of the supplier bonus? And is the handheld showerhead also included or did you pay extra for it? Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3296Jun 12, 2013 2:38 pm As part of the suppliers bonus we had rain heads like this Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I did not want them in the main bedroom ensuite and the kids bathroom as not really practical, so we upgraded to this. They were standard as part of the old 'platinum' package, but we paid $310.00 to upgrade to them. Link to the shower head from the Caroma website http://www.caroma.com.au/bathrooms/showers/track/track-rail-shower-with-overhead Modified Fernside 38 Rawson Homes Blog: http://www.thehousethatmatandjenbuilt.blogspot.com Build Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=60501 Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3297Jun 12, 2013 2:50 pm We are on the Gold package and Rawson quoted us $500 to upgrade them or $1000 to put a separate hand rail shower head to the ceiling rain shower head. In the end we downgraded the main bath room to standard and upgraded the en suite instead. Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3299Jun 12, 2013 8:08 pm JTM- Love your table and chairs and the idea of the accent chairs, they are going to look great!! Jen- Loving your feature tiles in the bathroom, tap looks amazing. Really coming together for you now. Do you have a new handover date yet? We upgraded to the same shower heads as you Jen, was expensive but after seeing yours definitely worth it!! Update with us, piers and plumbing was finished yesterday. I'm taking it slab is next but due to weather I don't expect it to be happening anytime soon. Fingers crossed for some fine weather for next week!! Re: Our Benham 33 journey 3300Jun 12, 2013 8:23 pm Bailey handover should have been 28/6 but the painters have gone on holidays for two weeks and won't be back until the 24th. Rather than rush the painters, I would rather a give them an extra week. I am hoping to hand over Friday 5th July at the latest OMG went to the house we have not only toilets but appliances - my oven is will post some pics tomorrow Modified Fernside 38 Rawson Homes Blog: http://www.thehousethatmatandjenbuilt.blogspot.com Build Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=60501 Any advice on how to ensure the kit home granny flat that im thinking of buying will get council approval.
