Browse Forums Building Standards; Getting It Right! 1 Jul 05, 2020 9:59 am I've had my new front stairs totally rebuilt on my 1945 Queenslander. It has a landing halfway down, so it's set over 2 levels. It seems pretty good except the bottom stair is set at 257mm high and the risers on the lower level are all between 185mm and 190mm, so it's a bit of a step up from the ground. I've read the building code online and it seems that my stairs would not pass a building inspection when I sell it soon, so I am left having to pay someone to build a platform to bring it up to the standards. The builder cannot see a problem. I'm hoping someone can advise me. If I'm wrong, I'd be happy to know. Thank you in advance. 2 2950 I'm curious, did they provide any reason why they did not like the idea? 1 14714 What we have done in a few theatres ( including my own) is run 2 layers of 13mm gyprock, but sounds insulation especially for the bass is really tricky as a lot of that… 4 2603 |
