Chipped Brick! Worth fixing?

Hi all,

My new build is almost at the completion stage.

I wanted a second opinion on a single brick that has been chipped. Overall the the bricks around the house seem to be in good condition.

Could this chip be problematic in the future, it is on the boundary wall facing my neighbour, I won't ever see it once the house is complete.

Is it worth raising this single brick as a fault to be fixed? I'm under the impression that fixing it would look worse than leaving it as is.

I have attached an image of the brick in question, any thoughts would be appreciated.

Based on it's location and the fact that it will cause you no issues from a structural viewpoint, I wouldn't bother.
If it was next to you entry or probably in any other spot that you'd regularly see it then I'd say get it fixed but considering the fact you will never see it again, I'd just move on.

I'm of the same opinion also regarding the chipped brick.

I would assume for that to be fixed, the brick would need to cut out and re-mortared? I'm no expert but from my understanding this could result in a worse off finish aesthetically, and the mortar colour may also not match 100%.

This is our first build, I'm definitely a little anxious leading up to our PCI, whilst we expect everything to be up to standard I just don't know how pedantic to be about slight faults.

My PCI has been booked in for next week, which is great news.

Does anyone else have any more feedback regarding the chipped brick on the boundary?

Personally it wouldn't bother me

But I would definitely bring it and other small faults up as you can use them as bargaining chips - "OK I'll accept the chip but then you need to do this..."

That's good advice mate, thanks. I guess it's not really worth the trouble then replacing one brick I will never see, logically speaking.

I will point it out as you mention to my SS at the PCI, it may give me some leverage for other possible faults.
