Browse Forums Building Standards; Getting It Right! 1 Dec 13, 2019 9:46 am I recently had a quote from a home building company. (Im in Adelaide)They are using Hebel for external walls Fire resistance, better insulation etc) But sure this material has got cons.. has anyone lived or built a house with Hebel and faced some issues? Re: Hebel 2Dec 16, 2019 5:35 pm Hi Shan_brad Currently in the process of building a Hebel home in Adelaide. From what I have been told the properties of Hebel is better than that of Brick veneer and suits the South Australian climate better (like you mentioned better insulation etc). Only downside from what I understand is that the rendered Hebel will require some maintenance over its lifetime (eg painting etc) and you obviously don’t get that bricked house look that Brick veneer gives you (if you like that sort of look). PS make sure the builder is quoting Hebel Power Panel as opposed to EPS sheeting which is highly combustible but cheaper. I was looking at different options for a fence for my build and Hebel PowerFence seemed like a good option (one of the criteria was a solid wall look). However, I don't… 0 5871 1 6601 1000000% definitely add insulation. I have in my home and it makes a big difference minimising sound transfer. Insulation is pretty cheap and definitely worth it 2 6173 |
