Browse Forums Building Standards; Getting It Right! 1 Jul 01, 2019 6:16 pm Hey guys, We have recently moved into our new house and are dealing with mice in the roof. When setting traps up there we noticed a lot of sunlight coming in. We got up on the roof to have a look and found a gap (aprox 50mm) between the eaves and the roof tiles, and about the same between the fascia and the roof tiles. It’s a big enough gap that I could look through and see a roof truss. It’s on both sides of the roof, but definitely worse on one side. My site supervisor seems to think this isn’t an issue, but is coming out to have a look at my request. I have attached a photo which shows the fascia gap but not the eaves gap. Is this normal / up to standard? Would appreciate any input, particularly if this is not up to standard and my SS pushes back against it. Thanks everyone!
