Browse Forums Building Standards; Getting It Right! 1 May 22, 2019 6:27 pm Hi All, I am currently building and we have a sloping block with split level. One of the external doors is over 1.5m off ground. My builder is saying they do not build a landing or timber stairs externally from this door to the ground. My question is are they able to legally get certificate of Occupancy or legally leave this? If one of my children opened the door and stepped out they would fall close to 2m down to the ground. They say it is up to me to build one when I am ready.
