Browse Forums Building Standards; Getting It Right! 1 Apr 27, 2019 3:13 am Our engineer specified tensioned strap bracing in a cross for the stud walls. Our carpenter used a single diagonal angle brace instead, notched into the frame. The engineer said bracing must be in a cross. It’s too late to replace the angle bracing as the timber has been notched, and too late to redo the stud walls. Angle bracing can’t be crossed because the brace would have to be trimmed to sit flush at the cross section. Could we brace the other side of the stud wall with strap bracing as per engineering? Any other possible solutions?
