Browse Forums Building Standards; Getting It Right! 1 Jul 07, 2018 12:14 am Hello Our brick sills havent been finished in the same way as our builder’s display home or other homes built by them in our estate, which is leaving our house not weatherproof. The flap seal is barely covering the sills whereas in the display homes and other houses the bricks are tucked further under the window frame with good coverage by flap seal. The black caulking they have applied is also affecting the flap seal from doing its job. See photos: We are near final completion and im concerned our builder wont change it. We’ve also got chipped bricks on sills. I am so scared of how insect and heavy rain will slip through the hole and than my whole frame structure will crumble. Thats what I was worried. The silicon will fill-in the hole and seal the rubber.
