Building Standards; Getting It Right!

I'm currently building and waterproofing the slab edge has come up a couple of times (landscaper and termite company mentioned it). It's going to cost about $1,200. I'm going to have exposed aggregate concrete, with either 25mm or 15mm exposed slab.
Is it worth the extra cost?

Wow ! You may well have to dig down outside and water-proof membrane. Then an ag drain as well. Floor doesn't look that good either.
