Hi, I am about to sign a building contract. The builder has a clause in their contract that says "All dimensions are approximate". They say it is to stop people measuring things to the last millimeter and complaining, which apparently some people do.
I understand this and will not quibble over a centimetre here and there
I however feel this can be abused and used to cover up mistakes, eg if something is out by a lot more than this,
They have changed the clause to read "All measurement are approximates only and all measurements
are to be in compliance to Australian Standards"
I have not been able to find any info on this, but are there are standard tolerances that are allowed in any domestic building standards ??
Or am I worrying about nothing???
Thanks
EDIT: Just found this - maybe it answers my question?
