A long story but I've been mucked around by a couple of people by only giving one quote for the two option I would like, of course the more expensive option.
I've checked with my local council and I've been told that I don't need an engineer if the builder/designer can get the right information about beams and loads etc. Originally my uncle, who is retired, said although he could do it he wasn't sure if we needed an engineer etc but now that I know I don't, I'd love for him to do it.
Can someone please give me the accurate information from the building guidelines for what beams are required for a 4.70m load bearing wall in a brick and tile roofed house. Thank you.
