But based on my experience, if your builder is using them as building surveyor to sign off the property for overall compliance they will likely look only for major defects. May not include all the quality checks you would like. Level floors, straight walls, quality of insulation installation .... and quality of finishes. If you haven't and things in your state are anything like in Vic think about getting your own private inspector who truly works for you and has no conflicts on interest with builder.
