Browse Forums Building Standards; Getting It Right! 1 Jul 06, 2016 11:31 pm Hi Hope this is posted in the correct forum area! We are currently half way through our home build and have decide to add a pool to the mix. We had the structural engineer that did the original structural engineering for the slab draw up a plan for the pool. They have requested that 3 concrete piers be constructed to underpin the alfresco area before the pool is laid. Attached is the plan. I was going to get the pool builder to do the piers, but My builder has said that they must do the underpinning of the slab or the structural warranty will be void. Questions: 1) is this true, will the structural warranty be void? 2) what sort of cost should we expect, I am concerned that the builder is going to inflate the price grossly as they know we want the warranty on the new home! They have to guarantee the house structurally so they have to do all the foundations for it. You wouldn't expect the builder to guarantee something he has built over the top of foundations someone else has built would you ? I certainly wouldn't. As for costs I can't help but if you do a search on these forums you should turn up a few prices. There maybe should be an additional J1 between TB10 and T12 if… 3 31824 interesting situation what happened after builder issued final invoice? did you list as defect or not does the building surveyor have any responsibility? ie. issuing… 13 46960 |
