Re: Beware of cost stripping 21Sep 28, 2015 6:59 pm Yep, having worked with developers and mass market builders my whole career, all I can say is that there are very good reasons why I have never bought anything "off the plan" nor have I used a mass production project builder to build me a house - and I never will. There's an old sayingthat if you want to retain your taste for sausages, never see them being made. Same goes for the mass market property development industry. I have been in the sausage factory and I didn't like what I saw... The sobering lesson is that when you are buying anything from a developer you are paying max, all the profit + for all marketing tricks, because they won't miss a trick. So you got to make sure the property is right for you for all the right reasons. On the other hand, investment should always be long term. If purchaser kept his 17M penthouse for 40 years, he would have enjoyed it and made huge capital gain.
