Browse Forums Building Standards; Getting It Right! 1 Jun 13, 2015 12:56 am Trust I posted in the right place, if not, please move me along. Brisbane. Just on the South-West side 15 mins from City. We have the windows in, electricity and plumbing in. Unfortunately, my wife and I have been somewhat disappointed with the builder as a whole. He's been unethical regards adding costs he formerly stated were within budget. Refused to document. Poor communication as we have to keep asking for dates when we need to get our bit done like kitchen design. Second rate sub contractors who have not provided reworked electrical plans when asked, anti-con blanketing with large holes revealing the roof, sisalation that has been put up in small "strips" in areas. Frame within wet area. Slab & frame stage passed by engineer so isn't overly a crook job but need that oversight to get some quality back into the build. We are looking for a project manager/inspector who can return the build to a decent standard with some oversight. Looking for experience, is able to demonstrate a track record and who can do this with a minimum of drama. Appreciate any info. Thanks. If someone with a builder's qual/licence would like to review the build so I have accurate information to come back with, and do it after hours so there is no issue with the builder, a consultant's fee for that list/insight will of course be made.
