Browse Forums Building Standards; Getting It Right! 1 Jun 07, 2015 10:43 am Hi all, we are building a new house and our slab just went down on May 26. In the meantime other slabs went down and I couldn't help notice that ours looks different and not as neat. I have some pictures below, the first 2 I made on the day the slab went down, May 26. the next 4 photos are from today and the last one is from the slab on the block behind us, and as mentioned before, for some reason all other slabs down look like this one with the blueish color and a lot neater. http://imageshack.com/a/img905/8136/hK3HSe.jpg http://imageshack.com/a/img537/3789/aXPZtb.jpg http://imageshack.com/a/img911/3010/jYgZop.jpg http://imageshack.com/a/img913/3112/HCpvPd.jpg http://imageshack.com/a/img633/3139/S97Eqd.jpg http://imageshack.com/a/img538/3290/1a8Pg3.jpg http://imageshack.com/a/img905/8539/Gwg4ZT.jpg I really appreciate some answeres, as I am freaking out, I don't want to pay for it if its crap, its the foundation of our house should I get a building inspector or engineer to look at it? Cheers Re: Quality of Concrete Slab 3Jun 07, 2015 3:32 pm I'm not an expert in these matters, but I certainly wouldn't be happy to see your new slab looking like that. Get yourself a building inspector to have a good close look at that, as they'll have the knowledge to fire back at the concreter/builder about it. Owner Building at Jimboomba Woods in Logan City Qld. Re: Quality of Concrete Slab 4Jun 10, 2015 8:27 pm Not sure if some vandals/trail bike riders have decided to run all over your slab, but that one broken edge looks shocking. I cannot think of one reason how a concretor could have it end up looking like that,. Definitely get it assessed by a building inspector in conjunction with your plans.
