My builders bricklayer has decided to implement his own unsightly articulation joint on the front wall of the house that were not signed off on the original plans. Can they get away with doing this? It seems very close to the corner, I'm not even sure what use it's going to be. Just got to wait and see what happens now. Re: Build not following the signed plans 7May 23, 2015 4:31 pm Oliver1 As far as I know you need a control joint every 6.0m with brick work, I don't see why they couldn't have done one above and below the windows though to minimise the appearance of it. They might have forgotten to put it in, then wacked it on the end as an afterthought. I would definitely not have been happy with that either, very amateur! Hi Oliver1... I have to disagree with you. Your rule is far too simplistic. AS3700 has the rules around articulation joints. For example... Still having issues with the sisalation repair which it seems PD are adamant that they can repair to a state that complies with the regulations. I have my doubts, but have no choice in the matter it seems. If they mess it up again, I hope they see sense that redoing the job properly may be the best option.
