Re: Roof not built as designed, what do I do? 21Mar 19, 2015 9:34 am Irrespective of which plans Design or Engineering, site contractors should know if not already stated, order of precidence-> Drawing-> Notes->Dimensions. These are generally read off the plans, in case of queries DO NOT SCALE..Contact this office, or something to that extent. I suggest you contact the supervisor and discuss this with him, sorry these arent structural problems. Measurements must be noted where required. Cheers, Paul (& Lisa) Parkhill 36 by ClarendonHomes in Coomera Retreat H1 Build Thread And Blog Building Blogs List - Go Ahead And Add Yours!! Re: Roof not built as designed, what do I do? 23Mar 19, 2015 12:54 pm building-expert Is building design done by the builder or by your own contractor? Well, the whole thing is done by them. I paid a tonne for variations to the plans and for a custom-designed frontage to match the variations. Originally the house was front-loaded and I had the garage moved to the back. The frontage hasn't been built correctly, so that's why I'm a little bit annoyed as it was a major part of the variation fee. I'm going to have to send an email to the builder, but it is a little intimidating as the person who was meant to handle my complaint never returned my phone call about the questionable water blast under my grano slab. I asked the supervisor about the issue and he said, in no uncertain terms: it's too hard to fix now, so you come up with a solution and give it to me and then I'll consider it. Re: Roof not built as designed, what do I do? 24Mar 19, 2015 1:21 pm The reason I asked is because sometimes builder can have excuse if design is done by someone else, however not here. Stick to your guns and don't be intimidated. If they have to demolish and rebuild pier, tough luck! As you can see above, the pier setout for this pier with the downpipe should be 1210. Instead the pier is at 1185 or thereabouts. Definately not over the 1200 mark even with a diagonal measuring tape Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Mind you, these are measurements with render on both sides, but even allowing for 5mm render on both sides, it's still short. Something definately hinky about the pier placements!! Re: Roof not built as designed, what do I do? 26Mar 19, 2015 5:43 pm You are on the right track now, I am happy to have assisted you. Maybe a builder had executed building plan without your consent. Such Kind of mistake happens very often when you hire different builder and Contractor. I think it will be too pricey to change it.
