I posted Perth and not "parts of WA" because you answered Darcy27's question about her downpipe and she is building in Suburbia.
The question I answered was Darcy asking if it was not normal in WA. I'm not sure of each town in WA's policy I just know that normal changes depending on where you are.

Qld don't use rubble pits because of rainfall. Rubble pits are used when no storm water fall is achievable for eg. the house may be located downhill of a storm water main or kerb
Correct but they are also used to (hopefully) prevent run off to neighbouring properties where there is inadequate or non existent stormwater infrastructure.
Doesn't this drainage rule exist in any other state? Is QLD really the only state that uses rubble pits when proper drainage isn't achievable?
