Browse Forums Building Standards; Getting It Right! 1 Oct 16, 2014 7:51 pm Hi, We are DIYing our kitchen this Dec/Jan and wanted to know what we need to look out for, especially behind the oven and sink. The house is in NSW, if that helps. We'll be getting an electrician in for the electrics, and plumber (not for the electrics). What are the relevent standards and where do I find them? Can someone translate them into plain English? Thanks in advance for any help. Today is under construction. Thank you for understanding. If not, the splashback or other material needs to be protected with a non-combustible material to a height of 150mm for the full length of the cooker -so tiling should be fine. Does cement board have to go behind the oven, under the tiles? Today is under construction. Thank you for understanding.
