Hi,
I have a tenant who's child who suffers from severe autism and, as a result, has put basketball sized holes in the dwelling. Asbestos testing has returned with positive results throughout the dwelling. Remove and replacing wall linings would be an expensive and extensive job.
So I would like to install wall protection panels - similar to ones in hospitals. I will use 2400mm craft board/MDF cut to 2100mm(or to top of door casing) fixed to existing walls with construction adhesive. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅
I have been advised it is illegal to encapsulate the asbestos sheeting by covering the asbestos sheet with MDF board. Where does it say this in building code or WH&S???
Could clarification be sought if there is an extent to this rule? I'm not 'encapsulating' as it wont be to ceiling height.
Any advice would be appreciated. ta!
