You need to be careful that they know what they are doing and "years in the business" don't seem to matter. Ask to see previous jobs or get the contact details of previous clients but also make sure that they understand the building regulations. See advice on the link below: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70245&p=1160439#p1160439 Make sure that they intend to give the concrete the correct fall away from the house and that they stay 75mm below your weepholes (if you have a brick veneer house); make sure they understand what an overflow relief gully is and that they use bars to lift the rio. If you put in "general concreting" as your sole search criteria you get a list of about 36 practitioners for the whole of Victoria and they are all DB-Ls. The good news for me is one of the concreters I've been tossing up about using is on the list. But there are a heck of a lot more people out there doing concreting than appear on this list.
