The court used to be called Small Claims Tribunal, but may be now the generic name Civil (list claims) Court... it is certainly Civil and not criminal although what some builders chuff out is virtually "criminal". I have also seen lawyers used under $10 000 on one of my cases on abysmal roof tiling job. What cannot be charged against either side is the legal costs. Everyone bears their own costs.
