Re: Draftsman 4Apr 08, 2014 11:38 am Hi AC27, If its roof structure then a draftsman can design it to AS1684 & manufacturers span tables no problems. If its roof trusses you are after then the draftsman will draw the trusses and nominate the required span & roof pitch, and note that the 'trusses are to manufacturers specifications', which satisfies council as long as the manufacturer provides a certificate of engineered design for the trusses, which they have to produce anyway. I am a draftsman, and that is how we do it. A mate of mine in Perth used 'Patio Drawings WA' and they were quick, cheap & easy, contact all via email & they mailed the drawings to his door in under two weeks. No problems with Council, they have a website. Or just hit up a local draftsman for a quote. Re: Draftsman 5Apr 08, 2014 11:52 am You can do it Kenny's way but i provide free steel frame quotes all day so thats why i suggest get a truss company to quote and it will most probably cost zilcho -mick Quote: I Have Done So Much With So Little For So Long, I Can Do Almost Anything With Nothing Now. DWB Re: Draftsman 6Apr 09, 2014 5:54 pm I think 'toecutter' is on the wrong tram in this instance. I'd go with 'kenny86' advice if I'm reading your question correctly. Re: Draftsman 7Apr 09, 2014 6:51 pm Always more than one way ausdesign, in QLD i estimate heaps of frames at no cost and even from sketches provided by OB's, if we win the job then the designers/detailers will sort the D&C engineering properties and permits out based on my structural estimates... We have even priced jobs for southerners and as far away as the Kimberleys WA. ps, dont ask me to estimate any jobs pls -mick Quote: I Have Done So Much With So Little For So Long, I Can Do Almost Anything With Nothing Now.
