Browse Forums Building Standards; Getting It Right! 1 Aug 28, 2013 10:00 pm Hi all, Chasing opinions on my situation. Ill summarize briefly - Basically hot water system went kaput, called in a reputable plumbing service to do the replacement. Plumber comes around and inspects my set up, informs me my old system is too close to a bedroom window and needs to move the new system 50cm over to make it a legal installation. I was fine with that and paid the extra $ for the extra pipe work? Anyway, job went fine and couldn't fault the plumber, as a tradie goes he was top notch. So a few weeks later a gas rep calls to come and inspect the HWS install, fine no prob, until he tells my wife the system is now to close to the bathroom window on the other side... Plumber comes back and says he was under the impression the bathroom window was a fixed window and didn't open. Anyway we nut that problem out, and agree that ill get the bedroom window reversed so it opens on the opposite side and he will come back and move the unit back to its original place. Again great, until he goes on holidays and the company send another plumber. This is the install he did, http://postimg.org/gallery/7t5dzbj8/ I personally think its a bit dodge, but im not a plumber and would appreciate opinions. Thanks guys Re: Hot Water System plumbing problem 2Aug 28, 2013 10:32 pm It was probably lucky you didn't stand there too long or he may have run the pipe around your feet and back to the wall! . At least the bends are reasonably neat. I would get anotyher opinion about the pressure release valve which is now fitted remote from the unit? @builderforlife Building inspector and passionate about construction When you need an expert to take a look.
