It had a plastic pipe that went through the tiles and was capped on top. It looks a lot like a stink pipe (not sure what the correct term is). Previously, the exhaust (flue?) terminated above the ridge capping on our tiles. This week we had solar panels installed and the installers trimmed this pipe down to below the level of the panels. It now protrudes around 25mm from the roof, and has been cut off (i.e. not capped anymore). It is below one of the solar panels and has up to 50mm of space between the top of the pipe and the bottom of the panel. Can anyone with access to Australian standards tell me if the pipe must be above the level of the ridge capping? My concerns are as follows: - Not adhering to standards; Potential for warranty claim denial from heating company in the event of issues. - heat from exhaust pipe may damage panel; I have a picture below but it's not terribly clear.
