Browse Forums Building Standards; Getting It Right! 1 Nov 21, 2012 8:24 pm We have had to apply for dispensation with our council (Wyndham) for a corner window that will not achieve the minimum 1m open sky requirement due to eaves on our house. However, the street facing wall of the same room (Master Bedroom) has a total of 8 windows... I was reading Rescode and standard A16 states that the responsible authority must take in to consider whether the habitable room contains other windows. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this provision. See below for an image of the facade... seems stupid that a tiny window is going to hold things up... Looking at A16 I don't know why the corner window is any different to a window in the middle of the wall. The 1m is measured from your eave to the boundary. Is the window to the right a corner window? That is covered by 2 eaves. But even then I think the carport rule would apply. http://www.monash.vic.gov.au/planning/p ... -part2.pdf http://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&rct=j ... The problem is for us as soon as one of the windows (despite there being 7 others...) the plans must go to council for dispensation to rule on that window.
