Hi all, It's been a long time since I last posted - our build was canned as we pulled out of the land because the developers were (and still are) taking far too long to complete the subdivision. While we were pretty devastated, it turns out, that was a stroke of luck as we have found a gorgeous 1940's cottage, in a spectacular location, on a massive block, that has been extended and it simply perfect for us.
Anyway, the upstairs (3 bed and 1 bath) are all dormer rooms, and each one has that funny little dormer space under the sloped roof that is shut off from the room proper by a small door. At the moment they are just open spaces, with struts and roof and wiring etc sitting in there. And possibly possums and spiders.
Does anyone know if you are allowed to line these little spaces with insulation and plasterboard to make them functional storage spaces? None of them are especially big - the biggest off the bathroom might be 4sqm or so (don't take my word for it - I haven't actually been INSIDE yet! ) but the others are smaller and would be ideal for extra storage. I'm just not sure if they are supposed to remain as they are, or if we can fix them up?
Any advice is much appreciated!
