The porch is being supported by brick pillars. An alternative would be to have posts instead of the pillars. Builder must follow the drawings. Sorry b-e but your blanket statement "Builder must follow the drawings" is not correct. Plans are a guide to building the house and from memory are number 4 on the list of references to use when it comes to how to build a house. So whether a pier has a post up the middle drawn on the plan means nothing, as long as the change meets an similar standard. The Builder must follow the construction detailing on the endorsed drawings.
