Re: Building code re fans in bathroom 6Feb 16, 2012 5:18 pm If you have a development that has required a Basix certificate, then it will specify if it needs to be externally ducted or ok to duct to roof space. If your eaves are accessible then ducting to here is the easiest option (for external, single story). Most importantly, in my opinion, is to ensure that any fan you install has anti draft flaps (close when fan is off). Otherwise all your heat in winter goes straight out that 2-300mm hole. If you are renovating and dusting externally is an issue, just duct to roof space and run the duct to the eave space . Any condensation will be ok there as they are lined with fibro. The bathroom is on the 2nd floor, with a colorbond roof and no eaves. I'm not sure then where I can vent to?
