Browse Forums Building Standards; Getting It Right! 1 Nov 08, 2011 3:21 pm I have a problem with the mortar color , Wembley Porter Davis. We paid for off-white mortar but the mortar color is not consistent, some dark, some white. We discussed this with PD Site Supervisor at the start , he said " it will get whiter after a few months, when it exposed to the sun, leave it for now and at the end you're not happy we then look into it". However our private inspector said " it's not correct" and he also put into his report " it's not consistent" After 6 months, the mortar is not whiter. PD said " That's acceptable" and don't want to fix it. The defect is very obvious by the look at it. The house is 3 months behind the schedule, when asked "What is the timeframe for the handover ? " they did not answer. Supposed to handover in Aug 2011. Pls advise what can I do ? I never thought that Porter Davis is not professional. I don't know how to upload the image. Re: mortar color not white, Wembley built by Porter Davis 4Nov 16, 2011 3:26 pm Thats a good news. hopefully they do the same, but the problem that i have is due to leeching from bricks, so they need to solve that first before they fix the mortar color. 2 8861 Three options 1 Ask the liquidator 2 Find another PD customer and ask the source of their report 3 Pay for new report 3 12320 Thanks for your reply! All valid points and I agree with you on many of them. I am in QLD, any recommendations on a construction lawyer would be helpful 3 2629 |
