Our house is being built - of SIPs (Structurally Insulated Panels).
Each panel is 1m wide, and 75mm thick (polystyrene foam sandwiched between two layers of sheet metal.
One side of the roof has a 7 m span (4.5 m wide).
The builder insists that the 7m long panels need no further support, even with 250kg of solar water heater+panels placed on the roof.
I am somewhat worried... Is a 7m span plus additional weight cause for worry with a SIP roof ?
Thanks in advance for any input....
