Browse Forums Building Standards; Getting It Right! 1 Apr 26, 2011 10:22 am Hi all Not sure If Im posting this in the right section. we are removing our old fibro house and getting a new transportable house. It wont be huge but will be new and also affordable for us. So we have been to the company a few times, and had some plans drawn up.We have altered the plans a couple of times, just small alterations.we had been told by our consultant that we need to have plans into council by the end of this month, so we went in and signed contracts and plans [the first ones we had seen printed off, as all others were sent to us via email].[we live about an hour and a half from the company].on seeing the complete plans we were undecided about placement of a entrance siding door,so left it as they had it.While signing contracts, we were informed that any changes made will now cost $400 +[Which in hindsight if I had of known, would have taken the plans off for a good look before signing]..Also that we have a 5 day cooling off period. So over the weekend we have moved furniture etc and worked out room sizes etc and have decided it would be best to move the sliding door over 500mm.I have browsed quickly through the pages and pages of contracts etc but cant find the part about cooling off and cost of changes. So my question is should we be able to make an alteration in the cooling off period without incurring extra costs? A little annoyed with myself that we rushed a bit in signing due to long weekend and need to have plans in by friday. Im afraid we're a bit naive! 6 7972 Really tight at the top of the stairs- how to get furniture into those rooms? Study books - does anyone really use them these days? Large storage closet would be more functional. 2 4664 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 7214 |
