Browse Forums Building Standards; Getting It Right! 1 Feb 23, 2011 1:27 pm Actually I have post this on the general discussion section but no have replied yet. I though I might be in the wrong section so here we go I just noticed that there is a grout marking on the skirting and some area i can see a gap under the skirting. Is it possible the foundation or floor tiles going down? could it be the tiles adesive shrink that make the tiles go down? I dont see any crack on the plasterboard wall nor brick wall. The foundation is a slab foundation and The tiles are concrete tiles. The gap or grout marking is just over 1/4 inch. Could it be the framing contract as we didnt get a proper summer season this year (not hot enough) ? How to fix this gap? Should I remove the skirting board and put it back lower to cover the gap? How do i check? Is there a professional that can have a look and claim to the builder to fix it? The house is only 2 years old. Please help. Thanks Re: Slab problem ?? Frame problem?? 4Mar 02, 2011 10:42 am Photos will help, but my first question is how old is the house> IF its in the first few months you will definitely get some shifting of the foundations whilst the house settles. Any gaps or issues that arise in this time should be addressed at the first 3 month inspection. Re: Slab problem ?? Frame problem?? 5Mar 23, 2011 11:45 am The house is only 2 years old. A company built this home but the building contract is with me and the builder directly not with the company. I had to terminate the first building contrat because the builder went bankcrupt. He did until a lockup stage. When I called the company he was saying that the company cannot do anything about it as the first builder (if the problem with the slab) is no longer with them or backcrupt. I was just wondering whether the house is covered by builder warrany? because the company structural warranty is 7 years. Should I go straight to builder warranty insurance company? Thanks This is 100% true. You can not hang anything on steel frames. very frustrating 8 7989 This certainly doesn't look good.
