Browse Forums Building Standards; Getting It Right! 1 Nov 08, 2010 7:05 pm My renderer who just got back after a 3 month holiday without telling me with my money, told me where to go and buy mouldings for our new build. We took our plans and specifically told them that the ground floor is brick and the 1st floor is polystyrene. We paid cash for a discount. I took delivery today and asked the delivery guy are these the right mouldings for a foam 1st floor because they seemed heavy. ( light concrete over polys) He rang up the factory and checked and said "yes they're ok, you have the longer screws". The render turned up and said these are not the correct mouldings, I can't put them up they are too heavy. (What the ****?Why did he send me there in the first place) The manufacturers of the mouldings will not take them back and keep telling me that they can be used on a styro cladding. I don't believe them, they don't want anything to do with me now that that have my money and the manufacturers of the foam cladding do not advise these sorts of lightweight concrete mouldings. Any advise? Re: CORRECT MOULDINGS HELP! 2Nov 16, 2010 3:47 pm If the manufacturer can give you installation and fixing guides then i'd proceed with them as per the fixing instructions. If they can not then get a refund. Hi there, long-time lurker but first time posting. I've bought a house 2 and a bit years ago and last year we had some major water damage on a converted pergola area… 0 7929 Yes, unless you are in a low intensity rainfall area or the area is protected from rain. Do you have access to NCC Part 2 or can you download it? I can email you a copy… 10 12508 Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7157 |
