I have an alfresco area off my family room - the alfresco is open on three sides. Every time it rains (and admittedly, it has rained a lot since I moved in a month ago) the rain falls on to the alfresco floor - which is part of the house's concrete slab - and then just sits there. After a few hours of rain, it actually makes it close to coming in the family room door. And when the rain stops, it takes ages to dry, even when I go out there and sweep as much of the water as I can into the garden.
I'm just wondering, is this just the way it is, and depending on the direction that the rain is going, something I have to live with? Or should the builder have put some sort of drainage in? Is this something I should add to my 3 month maintenance list?
