The sand pad below the concrete slab needs to extend to at least 1m away from the slab. The cladding/ brickwork interface looks wrong. The cladding should be able to overlap the brickwork slightly, like it does in the front of the picture. If you were to do that what would the frame sit on? If you look closely you can see that the bricks where the cladding overlaps them have been layed on the slab so very easy for the frame to then sit on top and match neatly. I gather this wall is not load bearing. However the other wall the slab where the frame, which is load bearing is sitting inwards of the brickwork, where it should, meaning there is a step out to the bricks. The only question I would have of the builder on this issue is what is the finished surface/product going to look like? I'm putting a new floor in my kitchen, slate flagging on a standard concrete slab.
