Browse Forums Building Standards; Getting It Right! 1 Aug 20, 2010 10:19 am Not sure if I am in the right place but I have a question about the position of our mains water and recycled water outlets. I have just been told by my builder that they have to be located centrally on the house, so if you look at our plan below they are on the external wall between W3 & W4 and on the opposite side of the house. We plan on decking the area outside W3 & W4 after handover and don't think it is an ideal place for taps to be. So I guess what I really want to know is if my builder is telling me porky's to get out of moving it or if this really is the case. The taps for our new build (translated onto your plan) are going outside the garage (mains & recycled), bed1 (mains & recycled) & bed 4 (water tank). So for us they didn't need to go in the centre of the house. Our local council is Gold Coast City Council. I would do everything I could to get the builder to love them from the area you want to pout decking. Cheers Re: Mains & Recycled Water Outlets 3Aug 23, 2010 10:17 am Thanks b0b555. There does not seem to be any reason why they HAVE to be there. I have checked with our estate manager about estate regulations, I have checked with our independent inspector and he has never heard anything like it, there is nothing on our plans that shows where they go. I just think that our builder doesn't want to have to get them moved. if it's the look that you're not happy with, the easiest option would probably be to spray paint it all into the same color as the walls so it blends in. there might not… 3 3084 Thanks for info, yes met with Power Utility, Builder's Site Supervisor and Electrician on site and aligned on the mains connection.
