Hi
We're about to embark on owner building a weekender with very few funds. We're planning on building to lock-up initially, then gradually, as funds come available, making it more habitable and more or less camping in it on weekends in the meantime.
I've read the LEP and Planning Regs and to get the DA approved we are going to have to include things like blackwater treatment (will initially use composting toilet but our LGA have never approved one of these as part of DA), Greywater treatment, Laundry tub, blah blah blah. Actually doing any of this will mean we can't actually afford to do it.
I'm just wondering, seeing as we are unlikely to get to a point of completion in the near term, are we going to 'get in trouble' while using the property?
Wishing for the old days when you could just build to the standard you felt you could live in without the government having its say!
