Browse Forums Building Standards; Getting It Right! 1 Dec 15, 2009 6:48 pm Hi, We are currently building with Simonds homes and our garage has 2 rollerdoors, Double in the fron and a single in the back. The back wall was only done single brick as i heard, it has to be double brick around the roller door to support it. They then blamed the engineer who did our plans and told us they sacked him and took them 3 weeks to make a decision on what they needed to do on you garage as they couldnt put 1 extra layer of brick as the kitchen window joins the end of the garage. Finally they cut 2 timber frames near the opening of the door to fit 1 extre line of bricks there. Is this legal? Im a bit worried they cut part f the frame.... ALso can we recieve reimbursment back as it wasnt built correctly.... Has anyone had this same problem? Re: Faulty Brick work to our Garage 2Dec 15, 2009 8:17 pm i would be asking them to provide a copy of the drawings for the new works that they have just done & also a copy of the engineers approval for it to be carried out how they did it i would also employ an independant Building Inspecter to check out how the works were carried out cheers rocket Re: Faulty Brick work to our Garage 3Dec 16, 2009 11:40 am Yep, get Kev or Alex on it asap!!
