Hi all,
I recently was in touch with a tradie/handyman to get him to do a few things around my place. He gave me a quote which I was happy with, however mentioned to me that if I choose to take no receipt/invoice from him, then I wont have to pay the GST on his quote. However if i do require a receipt, I will have to pay the GST on the quote.
Now I know that not paying the GST is a shifty thing. However, as a customer, what is the SAFER thing for me to do? I dont care about the money, I just want to make sure that the job gets done right, and that if the tradie does a ** job that falls apart a month later, I've got proof that he/his business is responsible for that work.
If someone can advise that will be much appreciated. I apologise if this thread is not in the correct forum.
Cheers!
