I've already done a few threads so am wording it differently this time in the hope that I can get some help.
Does a rangehood by law have to be vented to the external of the house via ducts?
At the moment, the builder has put a grate in the brickwork (in construction drawings it is labelled - vent for rangehood). But they haven't connected this grate to the space where the rangehood will be. It is a double storey home....so it isn't roof space that someone can crawl into to install ducting. The builder is saying that the fumes will naturally make their way out to the grate ......that doesn't sit well with us because they can also choose to go all over the cavity and I think all the oil and grease is a fire risk.
By law....does a canopy rangehood have to be duct vented??? Please help!!
