Got a quesion about Reverse Brick Veneer. The AS states that the min gap between the frame and the brick veneer is 50mm. My understanding is that it's to prevent moisture from the brick veneer from affecting the frame. There seems to be no mention in the AS of Reverse Brick Veneer and, by default, the same gap is used, even though external moisture is unlikely to affect a brick wall on the inside. So a gap that wide seems to me a waste of space and effort in a RBV wall. Any comments from building gurus, please ??
