Browse Forums Building Standards; Getting It Right! 1 Jul 20, 2024 10:42 am CDC in NSW allows building envelope up to 3m of protected trees. What happens when said protected tree has a larger tree protection zone radius of, say, 10m. If the building significantly encroaches into the tree protection zone up to the 3m cdc setback limit (that is a 7m TPZ encroachment or approximately by 30% or so), what does the CDC require in terms of tree protection? Is this part of the CDC certification check, or some other stage? Do the builders need to do anything specific when building in the TPZ under a CDC, or not (i.e. can they just cut the roots and put in the concrete slab). Re: 3m protected tree setback CDC tree protection measures 2Jul 21, 2024 7:26 am I found https://treenet.org/resource/tree-prote ... -it-right/ which states if tpz encroachment is greater than 30% then do not proceed. My question then is, is this binding, do developers need to engage an arborist, or can the developer go ahead and build with high tpz encroachment after CDC is approved. It is so easy to do yourself. Even if you are not very handy. You literally only need a few basic things from bunnings. Honestly even with the most basic skills I know… 3 28995 ![]() Yes . But I find the measurements debatable. The measured point is not the maximum height as seen on the picture. 2 13288 Thanks Draftroom that definitely helps a heap. We are still at the very early stage of planning to see what kind of house would fit on our plot. While we are on a… 2 42564 ![]() |
