Browse Forums Building Standards; Getting It Right! 1 Mar 07, 2024 6:25 am Long story short, a toilet room is going to back onto our main bedroom and I want to make it close to soundproof. Im going to build two frames (pretty much a room within a room) with a 25mm gap between them, insulate both and use thick plaster. To increase the size of the room, can I frame with 70x45 timber instead of 90x45. The height of the room is 3100. Walls are non-load bearing Current door width is approx 2700, looking to have double doors fitted 820-820. What size does the frame need to be before door jamb?
