Browse Forums Building Standards; Getting It Right! 1 Jun 18, 2022 2:02 pm Howdy all, Building a timber frame shed in the backyard (7m x 3.3m) with a skillion roof. Chose to do a timber frame purely to learn a little about the process but come with very little knowledge. Im trying to learn the best way to anchor the frames to the concrete. So far I have put in a few 12mm dynabolts in a few spots to hold the frame in place but I think one of the holes may have blew out. The dynabolts are right on the edge of the slab. With the skillion roof facing the prevailing wind Im paranoid about getting the bracing right and want to ensure maximum hold for the frame to the slab. Can I get any suggestions for the best anchoring option? What is the minimum distance you can put anchors apart (eg could I put one every 450mm?) Also, the front wall is 2700 high. As it has a couple of large doors in the front it will require sheet bracing (eg ply) and all the sheet bracing Ive seen has a maximum height of 2400mm. Is the best approach to use a couple of sets of noggins on the wall and use 2 1350mm sheets one above the other? Does using sheet bracing remove the need to tie the top and bottom plates to the studs using metal strapping? Thanks Does sound fun, but swings are made for one. A group shibari suspension however....thanks for the idea! 🤣 27 8987 Hi all, Not sure if this is a good place for this question but I guess we'll find out!
