We are building a house where the master bedroom has a walk-through wardrobe to en-suite. There is a cavity slider from the bedroom to the robe and another one from the robe to the en-suite. These two doors are supposed to be in line with one another, which is on the floor plan. When the frame had been put up we did a walk through with the builder and we pointed out that the doors didn’t appear to be in line; he measured and confirmed that they weren’t and said he would have it fixed.
Now the house is almost finished and we have gone inside to take measurements to plan the fit out of the robe with the joiner (we are doing this part ourselves) and the doors haven’t been fixed. They are misaligned by 7cm. It’s quite noticeable and will be even more so once the joinery is in.
What are my options here? Can I get the builder to move one of the doors in line with the other, even at this stage? There is a bit more work involved if it’s done now, but it should have been done during frame stage, and it’s not our fault that it wasn’t.
