If you like a rustic look it should be fine as long as the pile of dirt is levelled off to the top of the wall.
It's well drained, so no water build up behind the wall, and those stone blocks look very substantial.
It also looks to be leaning into the loaded side.

Personally I would not be happy with this. I can see at least 3 large gaps in the top layer of blocks. The choice of material is fine however, the choice to follow the slope of the verge is also detracting from the look. Yes it's a retaining wall so your builder will give it the tick, but it certainly doesn't look very appealing at all.
